Fair-Use Policy
The volunteer device pool is the only mechanism by which messages composed by someone other than you can be sent from your SIM. It is opt-in (default-on for signed-in users) and you can opt out instantly in Settings. Each volunteer device has a hard local quota and a per-device send rate limit (about 1 SMS/sec by default). Admins composing batches are responsible for the content; the app forbids spam, impersonation, deceptive sender claims, and any unlawful content. Carrier per-SMS rates apply to every message dispatched from your device, including pool sends — so if your mobile plan does not include enough SMS per month to comfortably absorb pool participation, opt out. The app does not pay carrier fees on your behalf and does not reimburse them.
Frequently asked questions
Can I be added to the pool without consent?
Sign-in is the consent gate, and a first-run modal asks before enabling pool participation. You can disable it in Settings at any time, and disablement is immediate.
How is the quota enforced?
The device tracks send count in Capacitor Preferences and mirrors counters to Firestore. Once the daily cap is hit, no further pool sends are accepted on that device until the next reset.
What if a batch contains spam?
Report it via the Contact page. Admin accounts that send unlawful or spam content are removed from the platform; their batches stop pulling from any device.
Will pool participation drain my battery?
The Android foreground service is started only when there is an active assignment, and it stops as soon as the batch finishes. Idle cost is negligible.
Can I be billed for pool SMS by mistake?
Every SMS leaves your SIM and bills against your plan. There is no "free" SMS — opt out if your plan does not include enough headroom. We do not reimburse carrier fees.
